I think the 6 eggs called for is a misprint. this same recipe on FoodNetwork.com calls for 3 eggs. All portions of other ingredients are the same as this one.

Paula Deen's recipes are consistently delicious and easy to prepare. My husband and I are appalled that we can no longer watch her shows on television. There have been numerous guests on her shows over the years from various ethnic backgrounds, and she has always been gracious and respectful. I've never met Paula, but we are close in age and both grew up in the South. Having grown up in Tennessee, I never attended elementary or high school with an African- American student. Paula most likely didn't either. We also grew up hearing people outside our families using inappropriate racial comments. If she had the courage to admit that she used a disrespectful, racial comment ONE TIME years ago and then apologized for doing it, why are The Food Network and her sponsors persecuting her for a mistake that millions of Americans of all races have made? Canceling her shows on The Food Network is ridiculous and offensive to her loyal fans and supporters. I don't know if anyone will read this, but The Food Network needs to rethink their position on this matter.

Love you Paula Deen. Fired off an email to QVC today to tell them how disgusted I was that they dropped you. Totally underserved. I can see your big heart all the way up here in Michigan, everyone makes a mistake now and then. Keep your chin up and stop apologizing, they should be kissing your feet to get you back. Love, Linda

Well I tried it with have the eggs and it seems like there is still something missing. I will keep tinkering with this recipe until I get it to the way I want it. Maybe next time I will double the cheeses, sour cream, butter and milk and Take the eggs to 2. Update will follow and a later day and time. Lol

Like some of the comments on here, I too thought this recipe has too many eggs. But, instead of saying "I'm never going to fix this dish again"! I tweeked it a little. It's in the oven right now. I used 3 eggs this time. If I still think thats to much, Well, I'll tweek it again until I get it to where I liked it. That's what recipes are for. Paula gave me her version. I tried it, Thought it had too much eggs (For me) so I tweeked it. No sense in saying "I'm Never Going To Fix This Dish Again"!

I Absolutely LOVE this recipe. I added 1/3 cup Asiago Cheese and 1/3 cup Havarti Cheese and 3 Tablespoons of Chia seed to it and increased the milk to 1 1/4 cups instead of 1 cup. And I crushed a sleeve of Ritz Crackers mixed with 1/3 grated Cheddar cheese and put on top for the last few mins of cooking.

I usually hate when people review recipes and don't follow the exact recipe at least the first time they make it but I just HAD to review this mac and cheese recipe. I followed the basic format of the recipe except used only mild cheddar cheese and only 1 egg (i didn't have 6 eggs available). This is BY FAR the best mac and cheese recipe I've found, and i've tried A LOT, at least 20+ recipes. My boyfriend is a big fan of baked mac and cheese but none of the other recipes i've tried seemed to have enough flavor or be creamy enough but this one it and definitely doesn't disappoint!
